  07:07 ET Pitt to require separation of banking and research : The Wall Street Journal reports that SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt is expected to require for the first time that Wall Street research depts clearly be split from investment-banking operations, and plans to require firms to formally separate their IPO-allocation businesses from their investment-banking depts.
