Energiafirmad on reeglina olnud väga stabiilsed kasvajad ning sobivad investorile, kellele ei meeldi suur volatiisus. Reeglina madalat valuatsiooni omavad energiafirmad on tugevas sõltuvuses tooraine hindadest.
