  • Lähenev tänupüha ning kõrged ootused Donald Trumpi poliitiliste ettepanekute suhtes aitasid hoida investorite tuju üleval ning vedada nii S&P 500 (+0,8%), Dow Jonesi (+0,5%), Russell 2000 (+0,5%) kui ka Nasdaqi (+0,9%) uutele rekordtasemetele. Turuosaliste huviorbiidis olid eelkõige energiasektori ettevõtted tänu Iraagi ja Iraani esindajate kommentaaridele, kes jäid lootusrikkaks OPECi tuleva nädala istungi suhtes, mille raames ootavad paljud nafta tootmismahtude kärpimist. WTI kallines 4% kolme nädala kõrgeimale tasemele, toetades energiasektori 2,2% tõusu. Euroopas sulgus Stoxx 600 0,3% kõrgemal, ronides välja hommikusest -0,8% langusest.

    Sarnaselt Janet Yellenile saatis eile ka FEDi aserpresident Stanley Fischer oma kõnes Donald Trumpile sõnumi, et viimane mõtleks lühiajalisest stiimulist kaugemale ning seaks eesmärgiks Ameerika produktiivsuse ja toodangu kasvatamise. Ettepanekutes mainis ta näitena kombinatsiooni paremast infrastruktuurist, kõrgemast hariduse tasemest, erasektori investeeringute julgustamisest ning efektiivsemast regulatsioonist.

    Mario Draghi ütles Euroopa Parlamendis esinedes, et inflatsiooni eesmärgini jõudmine nõuab praeguse, pretsedenditult lõdva rahapoliitilise toe pakkumist. Kuid rahapoliitika üksi ei suuda eurotsooni majandust august välja vedada ning toetama peaks tema arvates ka fiskaalpoliitika, jäädes seejuures kooskõlla ELi reeglitega. Näiteks võib Draghi arvates kaasa aidata valitsuste eelarve koosseisu muutmine rohkem kasvusõbralikumaks.

    Materjali- ja energiatööstus aitasid vedada öösel pidu ka Aasia aktsiaturgudel, kuigi tagasihoidlikumaks jäid liikumised Jaapanis, kus Fukushima lähedast piirkonda tabas 7,3magnituudiline maavärin. Rannikualale anti kolmemeetrine tsunami hoiatus, mis hiljem siiski tühistati.

    Tänaste majandusuudiste fookus püsib Ühendriikidel, kus selguvad oktoobri olemasolevate majade müük ning Richmondi töötleva tööstuse novembrikuu küsitluse tulemus.
