  • Volatiilsus püsib aktsiaturgudel kõrgena, kuid Ühendriikides suudeti siiski hoida meeleolu positiivsena ning jätkata reedest põrget (S&P 500 +1,4%). Euroopas taastus Stoxx 600 suurimast nädalasest kukkumisest alates 2016. aastast, kerkides 1,2%.

    11.30 Suurbritannia inflatsioon (jaanuar)
13.00 USA väikefirmade kindlustunde indeks (jaanuar)
    15.00 FEDi Mester esineb
  • Suurbritannia alusinflatsioon kiirenes jaanuaris 0,2pp võrra 2,7% peale ehk veidi rohkem kui oodatud 2,6%
  • USA väikefirmade kindlustunde indeks põrkas jaanuaris kahe punkti võrra 106,9 punktile (oodati 105,3), jõudes tagasi kõrgeima taseme lähedale alates 1983. aastast

  • Cleveland FEDi president Loretta Mester jääb senisele intressimäära prognoosile truuks ega kiirusta veel maksureformi mõjust mingeid pikaajalisi järeldusi tegema.

*Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland President Loretta Mester says tax cuts have added upside risks to her outlook for the U.S. economy, but a gradual pace of interest- rate increases still remains the correct course.
    * “While a deeper and more persistent drop in equity markets could dash confidence and lead to a pullback in risk-taking and spending, the movements we have seen are far away from this scenario,” Mester says in text of speech in Dayton, Ohio
    * Mester says trading has remained orderly and markets “generally liquid,” with no pullback in credit
    * “I think that there’s more salient upside risks to the forecast than we’ve seen in quite a while. I think that it’s going to be important to evaluate how firms and households are responding to the tax cuts”: Mester
    * Mester speaks with reporters after giving speech in Dayton, Ohio
    * “I put a quarter to a half percentage point on extra growth from those over this year and next year -- given what I’ve seen so far in how people have said they’ve reacted to the tax cuts.
I think it potentially could be bigger than that, so that’s an upside risk to the forecast”
    * On rate hikes, says “the gradual path is my modal forecast, but I do think we have to be very observant of how the economy is evolving”
    * “I expect the short-run neutral rate to move up over time as the expansion continues”
  • 13Fs will be released today and tomorrow after the bell.
